Regulation

Encompasses the analysis, study, and definition of schemes for the regulation of public services by the competent authority. Includes specific definition of regulatory instruments and procedures for enforcement. As such, INECON provides authorities with advisory services to assist in drafting sectorial laws and regulations; defining information to be required of regulated operators and the ensuing development of fit-for-purpose information systems; structuring regulatory bodies; developing regulatory accounting systems; designing mechanisms for resolution of conflicts between the regulator and regulated companies or between regulated companies; reviewing industrial organization issues or revising provisions in the sector, as well as competition practices used in the markets involved. Likewise, this area covers assistance to companies in regulated industries in activities such as assessing directives and resolutions issued by the authorities, proposing definitions or amendments to laws, regulations, or standards, and addressing conflicts between operators.
